Former Assemblyman, Orange County Supervisor, and Huntington Beach Mayor Jim Silva endorses Kelly Ernby in the race for California’s 74th Assembly District

(Huntington Beach, CA) –Former Assemblyman, Orange County Supervisor, and Huntington Beach Mayor, Jim Silva, today announced his endorsement of Kelly Ernby for State Assembly.

“Deputy District Attorney Kelly Ernby is a well-rounded and hardworking candidate. I have no doubt that she will make an excellent Assemblywoman,” said Jim Silva. “Kelly will lead with a commonsense approach to politics and will not break from her beliefs under pressure in Sacramento. I cannot wait to see her defending the rights of Orange County citizens on the Assembly floor.”

Jim Silva is a well-respected and distinguished member of the Orange County community. Silva was serving on the Huntington Beach City Council as Mayor when he was first elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors. He was elected to three subsequent terms on the Board of Supervisors from 1995-2006, when he was elected to represent the 67th District State Assembly. He served in the State Assembly until 2012, when he retired due to term limits.

Silva’s endorsement adds to the growing list of prominent supporters of Kelly Ernby for Assembly, joining Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner, former State Board of Equalization Chair Diane Harkey, Assemblyman Phillip Chen, Assemblyman Vince Fong, Mission Viejo Mayor Greg Raths, Huntington Beach Mayor Erik Peterson, Irvine Mayor Christina Shea and many other community leaders and former elected officials.

“Jim Silva’s record of getting results for Orange County citizens is an admirable achievement, and I am honored to have his endorsement and support in this race” said Kelly Ernby. “As your Assemblywoman, I will seek to preserve Jim’s record of results through fighting for lower taxes, deregulation, and an end to government unaccountability in Sacramento.”

Kelly Ernby is a pro-business, pro-taxpayer, political outsider with over 16 years of legal experience, including more than seven as a local prosecutor. As a deputy district attorney, Ernby has litigated some of the most serious and complex cases in the areas of the environment, consumer protection, labor violations, and fraud.
